On August 1st, we proudly celebrated our first official graduation ceremony. It was a tremendous success, marked by the radiant smiles of our students and their parents. We are especially thrilled for our four sixth graders, who will start the first level of Junior High School next school year. Our kindergarteners and third graders also had reason to celebrate as they officially move up to the next level. Beyond academic achievements, we also celebrated non-academic contributions on this special day, awarding those who showed exceptional initiative and exemplary behavior.
Our choir provided the musical backdrop for the event. Under the professional guidance of Sir Prince, our third-grade teacher, the students in our newly formed choir performed for an audience for the first time. Their repertoire included a classic song in the local language, Twi, an English song, and two German pop songs. We are incredibly proud of what our fourth, fifth, and sixth graders have achieved over the past few months.
Traditional dances and poetry, performed by our students, also lent our graduation ceremony a special depth and significance. In Ghana, performances at ceremonies are an essential cultural component, reflecting the country’s rich traditions and communal spirit – and our graduation was no exception. These moments allowed the children to celebrate their cultural heritage as they embarked on new phases of life. Cultural performances symbolize the unity of the community and admiration for Ghanaian culture – at the Arise Educational Foundation, we promote cultural values in a modern context. It is more than just tradition; it’s about growth, community, and celebrating life’s milestones.
Our first official graduation ceremony at the Arise Educational Foundation will always hold a special place in our memories!
