We didn’t miss out on the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’!

We partnered with the Healthy Bambini to organize an information session about breast cancer. A total of 47 parents including guardians of our students and women in the Tuba community participated.A health professional gave the presentation in Twi and English about the different stages of breast cancer and explained thoroughly how women can perform a monthly breast check-up on themselves.

Afterwards, there was an opportunity for all participants to be examined by a medical team and have a health check including vital signs and blood sugar. Later on we served drinks and fresh fruit salad while the children where playing with balloons and jumping ropes on our playground.

🏗In the future we would like to host more events that raise awareness about important issues to people from the Kokrobite/Tuba community.
The new school building, which is currently under construction will provide space for more participants and better technical facilities.
