The construction of our school is making progress.
A lot has happened in the last few weeks. The floor has been poured with about 70 m³ of concrete and our construction workers could start with the walls. All the walls on the ground floor are made of 5000 bricks. The corners will be reinforced with concrete poured steel beams to support the 1st floor in phase 2 of our project. The window frames are being stabilised and the building is starting to look like it should.
The most progress can be seen in the washrooms, all the walls show the future layout and the pipes are already in place. Now all that is missing is the roof and the furniture.
At the moment the builders are preparing to cast the 1st floor. The wooden moulds are in place and the next step will be to fill them with concrete.
In the dining hall and washrooms, the first work on the roof has begun, so that the rooms will hopefully be protected from water before the rainy season.
