Our school takes shape!
The concrete dried up successfully and the ground got firm. Unfortunately we had to take a building break during December because we were out of funds. This was a result of the massive inflation in Ghana from September to December which led the price of building materials such as bricks, cement and steel rods increase by 30%. This is why our team had to focus on fundraising during December. Luckily we applied and got accepted for a grant donated by the German environmental lottery „Bingo!“. The first funding from the grant worth 20.000€ allowed us to continue with the first phase of our project in late December. With the help of a Caterpillar a total of 585 cubic of sand was used to fill the foundation and compound. Water was poured over the head and later stamping machine pressed the sand firmly onto the ground afterwards. Our future school is gradually taking shape and we are exited to give you the next updates!
You are invited to donate to our project via betterplace or gofundme.
